Where have I been?

Where have I been? One of the most frequently asked questions when I’m recognized by someone or when engaged in a conversation regarding my music.

For years, I’ve lived my life in a way that has allowed me the luxury of being able to maintain a balanced level of normality even in the midst of the complicated & intricate nature of the entertainment world.

So here, I invite all that are interested in engaging me in conversation in regards to who I am, where I’ve been, what I’m up to & where I’m going.

Starting this weekend, I’m hitting the road to start the promotions of my new project, to be released soon, I will visit various people & places, I’ll be posting videos & commentary of my travels. I will literally tell you where I am each day.

Lets have a conversation…

Im glad u are bridgin the gap between artist and fan outside of albums and tours.

Hows ur fam TR. Hows ur kids. Its funny cuz i read about them in ur liner notes at different stages of their life…amber and antonio isnt it? How old are they? R THey takin up an interest in muzik?

And finally..What sort of a sound are u going for on your new project? By which i mean..are there any old school artists youve studied more closely recently, or maybe even music by some new artists that are paving a way in the music world that u like the vibe of and want to have an attempt at?

Good luck wit everything man..

T,

Well you know I had to show my boy much luv & support. I’m very happy for you. It’s funny how people can be close by but yet seem so far & when they are far they feel even farther. Wish you all the best & continued success my friend. I think a question some could really learn about or simply want to know is what does the word Exist mean to you? & what made you call this album Exist? I’ll start off slowly interviewing is actually fun…

B safe ;-) Jay

“Boogie”,

I am so proud of you…as you grow and transform yourself, your music, your people, and your space in the world. I want to know more about your time on the West Coast. Work, sun, fun…all the details!

Luv ya forever….

Hey,
Since you are a multi-faceted, complex brotha, here is an interview question that explores another side of Tony Rich: I heard you were involved in a spoken word project called “A New Understanding of Peace”. What is that project all about? How can I get my hands on it? By the way, love your art work!

So here are my answers to these questions:

1.What sort of a sound are u going for on your new project?

TR:The EXIST project is as much a musical record as it is a lyrical record. The sound is the score for what I’m saying lyrically which is in fact the translation for what the music is saying.

2.What does the word Exist mean to you? & what made you call this album Exist?

TR:The word EXIST, to me, best represents the mindset of being totally ok with things, your reality, in which case, my reality is as beautiful as I envision it to be.
I chose the title EXIST because it best described the essence of what the record is saying.
Because through all that I’ve been through & living life now, I learn to EXIST.

3.I heard you were involved in a spoken word project called “A New Understanding of Peace”. What is that project all about? How can I get my hands on it?

TR:”A New Hunderstanding of Peace” is a collaboration between my Auntie Lynda Jeffries, her best friend Sheila Evans & myself. They both had the concept of creating a product that people could listen to as another choice for enjoyment & enlightenment. So I literally scored the music to the spoken word. I loved contributing the musical elements.

How does it feel to be back on the road? Itsn’t it boring without your Brother? When are you coming back?

Hey my little brother, it actually feels great to be on the road doing what I do. All a part of the building process. Back on the 1st, I have a performance on the 3rd in Atlanta.

I still will always be a fan. I am also looking for a cousin of yours by the name of Conrad. Please tell him to see me and my son and tell him my sisters often ask about him.
