Kindred the Family Soul announce today they’re bringing their show to the fans with the announcement of a slate of summer shows.
The Hidden Beach duo recently celebrated with Philadelphia area fans at the pre-release screening of “Last Night at The Five Spot” a film by Mike D which features Kindred along with Soul Music luminaries who launched their careers from the Black Lily, the famed musician’s collective which was held weekly at The Five Spot which was consumed by fire in February 2007.

Kindred The Family Soul makes timeless music. A soulful R&B couple that takes words and makes them into songs that are vivid portrays of everyday life. A lot of R&B groups are hot for a second and then break up due to their own self serving agendas but Kindred has made it perfectly clear that they are here to stay.
“House Of Love” is a soulful and inspirational record that is very much open to interpretation. This song can be taken figuratively and applied to anyone’s life. Kindred’s vision for the record, for example, was for the song to speak on their personal journey throughout the music industry and how they had to deal with raising a family while simultaneously pursuing their dream. While this is how the song spoke to them another person may take it more literally and apply it to building a home with that special someone. When I first heard this record I personally saw more of the literal interpretation in a visual and I believe that more people would connect to it in that way as well.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition & Trading Spaces are the two television shows that first popped into my mind upon hearing the record. They are shows that have the perfect balance of drama induced emotional story telling along with fun light hearted humor. I thought that doing a take on (more…)

(Los Angeles, California) – December 8, 2008 – Hidden Beach Recordings artists, Kindred The Family Soul are hit the road last week in support of their critically acclaimed CD, THE ARRIVAL which features the hit single, “House of Love.”
The House of Love Affair – a series of shows where Aja and Fatin touch their fans in an intimate setting with new music from “The Arrival” – lands in Philadelphia today (12/9) at Theatre of the Living Arts (TLA). The husband and wife duo held their Album Release concert in the venue in 2002.
THE ARRIVAL has been critically acclaimed by a number of key press outlets. In addition to the “Year’s Best” honors from i-Tunes and Soulmusic.com (where the CD is one of the Top Five CDs of year), THE ARRIVAL lands at number 10 on The Urban Network’s Top 20 Indie Artists’ Releases for 2008.
“Our music is about love, life, ups, downs and hope,” stated Aja Graydon, one half of the husband and wife duo. “We want to share our music so we’re hitting the road to help folks kick off the holidays.”
The House of Love Affair kicked off in Atlanta to a capacity crowd, notable in a our current recession and in a city without radio airplay. So far, Kindred have excited fans in Atlanta, Washington, DC and New York. With the city’s loss of the legendary Five Spot, tonight’s appearance at TLA represents a real home-coming.

In addition to concert appearances, Kindred were seen performing on Patti LaBelle’s Holiday Special airing on TV One yesterday – Monday, December 8, 2008. Additionally, music from THE ARRIVAL will be the Official Soundtrack on BET-J’s Soul Sessions Last Call 2008 – the Top 50 Countdown on December 31st and New Year’s Day.
