I JUST WANNA AND MUST SAY THAT THIS CD IS IT!!!! I CAN RELATE TO JILL 110% ON THIS PROJECT AND IT IS GOOD TO KNOW THAT ANOTHER WOMAN FEELS THE SAME IN SO MANY WAYS. THIS ALBUM GOES FROM A-Z IN RELATION TO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND RELATIONSHIPS….MAN!!! JILL U OUT DID URSELF AND AS ALWAYS I AM ONE OF UR BIGGEST FANS!!! KEEP IT REAL GURL AND I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT UR MUSIC. B.T.W….I BROUGHT THIS CD FOR 3 OF MY GIRLFRIENDS AND NOW THEY ARE HOOKED AS WELL.

WHOA!! Is there anyone who CAN’T relate to that? You have only begun to love if you can’t. The kind of love Jill is talking about is the kind that transforms lives and leaves you breathless. I resemble this song and appreciate the talent, the heart, the soul and the courage it took to once again bare her naked soul to the world.

Jill is absolutely gorgeous. Her connection with her songs and the pure, true raw emotion bring a level of performance that is missing from a lot today’s artist. She doesn’t seem so far away from the everydays of life. Or seem to lead one of those lives that is impenetrable or free from care and worry. I sense that if I met her on the street she’d acknowledge me with genuine pleasure and interest.

Listening to this album is like sitting down with your closest girlfriend over a couple pints of Haagen Das or Ben and Jerry’s and talking about the challenges and triumphs of living life and being open to love. That’s powerful when your music doesn’t just entertain but relates and opens the door to healing.

You can tell she is real, hence the name of the album is very appropriate. Thank you for that. God’s continued blessings to all who participated in this endeavor: video, album and the likes.

Meeting men who are emotionally mature is a challenge today. Women like Jill and myself because we are love honestly, we must be careful. The love she sings about, she gave with all her heart but it was not respected or appreciated. Maybe when this person matures he will see what he passed up. Man-o-man Jill never lets me down. I’ve been a fan since day 1 and I’m still a fan! This album touches a range of topics and emotions. She is human like the rest of us. She owes us nothing yet she gives us everything. In another life I would’ve stuck w/music and only hoped that I would be half the artist Jill is.

Love the song, the video is ok I guess. The song is so deep and soul stirring I expected more from the video. I say this with love of course, You are a beautiful reflection of the strenth, beauty and wisdom of my hometown “Philly”!

Jill Scott you did it again! Bravo! This album is off the chain, just put it in and press play. May God keep you and bless you with all that you desire. I fell in love with you since the first album. I will sometimes tease my wife and say Jill Scott is my mistress, she is a Macy Gray fan, but even she gave you Kudos, your lyrics are passionate and purposeful. The “My Love” video is so real and from the heart, passion is something you can’t purchase. I did not know that you and I were the same age, and we got married around the same time, mine was in August 2001(Early Fall), right before 911. I remember in the earlier years of my marriage if me and my wife argued I will pop in your cd, dim the lights, and chill some wine and sip till your cd ends (you got me through the early years). Evolution and Marriage has one thing in common there both a journey. And no journey is complete without experience, and the times you and your ex have shared will be your guide going forward. Thank you Hidden Beach for finding soulful and meaningful artist to share there stories. It so sad that these songs are not on radio air play, if it was not for this website I would be lost, I already told my wife all my Christmas gifts are here.

After the presentation I asked the Hidden Beach marketing rep, who was singing and she said, “Jill Scott”. My initial thought was “that’s too hott” and I knew at that very moment that you were destined for great success and would make your own imprint in this industry. Many congrats on this! I saw your special on BET J last week and was truly saddened to hear that our folks were dissing you online but in true Jill Scott style you turned that negativity into positivity. DO YOU!! A great lesson for all of US. Lastly, thank you Jill for continuing to express yourself along the way establishing a “voice” for black women as we absolutely need this in these days and times. there is no word to describe this woman!I’ll just use he word AMAZING…

Let me first just say that I am totally in love with this CD, but I am each time she brings out another Volume, But I am disappointed with this video. Why is she displaying another big girl who is distraught and singing her heart after being hurt and let down. I envisioned the video to be totally different. I would have liked to see her run into her ex and walk away doing fine, but just have him realize what he had lost or something like that, anything but her showing how heartbroken she is, singing into a video camera all torn up.

I still love Jill though even after the disappointment.

As with any fan will all feel that we can relate to where you were in each album. The first album I felt I was coming to my own and really finding my own footing and being comfortable with myself and that is where I felt you were coming from as well. In the second album you had found love and it was fresh and new and you wanted everyone to exeperience what you had and to feel the power of this thing we call love. I was in the same place in my life. In this third album love has been lost and it hurts like hell. Love was lost due to choices and decisons that people make as separate individuals and even though we all agree to the terms and ending things the pain is still the same. This is where I feel you are coming from in this album. So I just want to say THANK YOU for putting your life out there in song for the world to hear and heal from it at the same time just like you. There are many greats that came before but how many can come after the infamous Jill Scott!

After reading your CD contents and understanding that you occassionally peruse comments, I felt compelled to stop in and say “Hi.”. I feel a common sprit - a connectedness with you like IV fluids through my veins in the form lyrics flowing delicately in so many of your songs. I could divulge a lot of personal information here in hopes that you would read and then relate to me as well. Rather, I’ll suppress the urge and simply say “Thank you” for expressing my feelings in the way that I wish I could - through music. I, instead, choose poetry that goes unnoticed in a journal hidden away at my sister’s house so that no one hears what my heart really wants to say; words that would blow away my nest and teen eggs. “Thank you” for breathing life into the Real Thing, representing to me, the real way love happens - swinging wildly from passion to insecurity and sometimes settling inbetween for safety. All these words only aim to express my sincerity.

I went to see Jill last night at the Shepherd;s Bush Empire, London ….. what can I say … I already rated her knowing how good she is but actually she is incredible, she sent chills down my spine. I have never been moved in this way by a performing artist - she has it all; the voice, the range, the poetry, the flow, the heart & soul. This whole CD “The Real Thing” is all that. I just Love Jill. She is sultry, sexy and the most incredible person with a talent that is very rare. I haven’t heard anything compared to Jill since Billie Holiday. I bought my CD from Ashley Stewart’s, out shopping one day. I had already had the pleasure of listening to this slamming CD but haven’t had the time to to buy it. (because I had downloaded it from an original copy of my girlfriend)
I have been with my husband for 13 years and somehow things were changing. I decided to play track number 11 “Whenever You’re Around” and believe me, it must have gotten through because that night, it was like everything was back to what we had. I am craving him more than ever. I guess, time change people and they get use to having you around but forget that women have needs and we demand to be loved. Thanks Jill and keep doing what you’re doing. Let me know when you will be performing in the Tri-State area. I will be there. I am your number one FAN. Oh, and by the way, one person commented that “Jill is definitely back!!!”, guess what, she never left. HA!!!!!!!!
