This cd re-inspired me to write again!! Something positive,not man-bashing or wailing about how down she is!! There is room for sistas who just want to love and respect their brothas!!

This is an amazing album. I fell in love with my husband to this album. He loves Me is our song. Everytime I hear it, it reminds me why I am still with him even after seven years. You keep making these great hits.
This is my favoriate album. I am feeling the other album’s since then, I just can’t stop listening to this one.
I have bought this cd six times. My teenage kids had taken it from me too have for themselves. I love every song on this cd. There are so many songs that speak to the soul of a woman in love with her man.

In my stage of being a Bgirl, this was my champagne on a sunday morning. This album brought me from florida to philli everytime it bumped in my ear. this is my favorite album still. I really just had to let you know how much of a blessing you are. I was station in Korea (2000-2001) when your album drop. They could not keep it in the PX! So I had to go down range and buy a copy (sorry about that). And they were talking about how they could not make copies fast enough for soldiers. I also met my husband while station there. Ms. Scott it was two cd that I fail in love with him Yours and Carl Thomas. It seems like every word you were speaking were the words I need to express, but didn’t know how. This man was my folk,spoon, and knife. And “He Loves Me” put it altogether for me. Sad to say we diovrce in 2006. And to you again I listen too over and over to get me threw one of the hardest test in my life. I can listen to your first cd and not think of him as much. You are the one getting me through times that God has tested me for something much greater. I thank you so much for your words/music/pain/love/self-love/respect/honesty/sincereness/realness/up/down and everything else. And it so funny how I can llisten to your words and hear something totally diffent now. Aint love a mess. When you are in love you are is real mist. And love is so smooth it let’s you feel, eat, smell, and touch what it wants you too. Music is a form of food for me. And I so happy and bless to be able to listen to yours. I have a real copy now. First solo album with great success. My advise (and it may not mean anything) stick to this blue print. I loved it. A mixture of 1 part Jill Scott spoken word, with parts 2 parts of Jill Scott vocalist, 3 parts of creativity, and 4 parts individualistic style. I believe that all your projects have been wonderful. However, I feel you have strayed from that formula. I will still invest in your projects simply because your Jill Scott, yet my enthusiasm is lost with every project after this one.
I hope this wasn’t considered to be a negative review, It wasn’t my intention. I just want to see that Philly girl with the same style I fell in love with.
This menagerie of soft beats, smooth sounds, and soulful poetry, brings me through a story of love, passion and pain that all women have experienced at one point in their lives. It makes me appreciate the hi’s, low’s and mediums of life and helps me remember to love myself, cause “one is the magic #”

I had this disc when it just launched and I did not what to mess with it so I copied it to a cassete ha ha ha also because I a cassete stereo which I secretly hid under my calor and listened to it during class “Naughter School boy”. (I felt like cayon peper”
I realy loved the Jilltro and wished it was longer (always paused and rewinded that ish up). “Do you remember” played a huge role in my teen macking days, I had this beautifull women that I adored who gave me the shivers when she walked into a room and guess what I made her listen to. Yeah you and she loved the song. I realy wished that you had done a remix version of “Exclusively” and featured Mos Def it would have been off the hedges (think about it though).

The album that made me a believer that there is sounds of Philly still existing. I became a fan while living in the state of Texas….The song ” He Loves Me”…I would hear the song on the radio, but could never catch the artist’s name. So of course, musicians we are in my family, I had to call back here to the east coast to my daughter to find out who you were. Since…..my ear continues to believe and listen to Jill Scott, whatever she does…I thank you for bringing the sounds and lyrics of truly what we need to hear again, with heart and soul.

This album made me feel like I was in a perpetual good mood. Everytime I played the album I sang along happitly in my 1998 Hyundai station wagon to my son anddaughter as we rolled upon the streets of Baltimore. My son has cerebral palsy so I remember looking in the rear view mirror and watching him grin as I hit (I am sure I did) the high notes! lol
I used the album to stretch before teaching dance at my job, and afterwords on the long ride home through the tunnel that I was slightly scared of! Later on when I met my boy friend and his daughter I sing to him before we ate crabs on lazy summer days, and after he was gone and the memory came rolling down my cheeks in tears. I loved and still do love that album! I love the soulfull, humour, the phrasing, the way her voice sounds like a trumpet….I love Jill Scott’s voice!

The beats and production is what made this album even that much better. Jill did her thing as always, but sometimes the greatest writers go unnoticed if the beats aren’t what they need to be. The music on this album is the best out of all her albums.

I first heard this album while listening to KCRW. Garth Trinidad played “Slowly Surely”. I had never cried so hard in my life. This was the right song at the right moment. I went out the next day and bought the cd. This cd is pure genius. “Honey Molasses” is sublime!!! “… we Paris,Italy,Japan, Africa Rome..” I get the chills every time I hear this song. This cd has helped make me stronger and wiser. It has touched my soul. I have had my heart broken, repaired and fallen in love and this cd has been the soundtrack through it all.

I am a 40 yr old female from the First State (Delaware). I attended the Hampton Jazz Festival and was disappointed in Miss Scott’s performance. I think that if she tailors her performances to the demographic of her audience then future engagements will help her to have a career in this industry as long as she can stand.
I was 9 y.o. when this CD came out and I can clearly remember my mother bumping it from her bathroom, dancing, and humming the tunes. I knew all the words (to the songs it was okay for to sing) and these songs encouraged me to seek more understanding of my Blackness, so to speak. Betcha already did the math, but I’m sixteen now and I still listen to this CD to wash my troubles away. I’m carried off into another land with “Do You Remember Me?” and I experience a love I’ve never truly experienced with “He Loves Me”. It’s a beautiful beautiful album. Truly a classic from classy Mrs….excuse me…Ms. Scott.

“The Way” can come on and it makes me feel like I’m in love even when I’m not seeing anyone! That song makes everyone I know stop and start singing even years later. None of her last albums compare to the first in my opinion. Maybe since she’s getting married again she’ll come with the real happy love songs again.

I was on my way work listening to this CD on the morning of 9/11/02 and the track was [I think it's better ] hen I saw the last plane fly overhead before all flights were grounded. For a long time I would play this disc and get very emotional because I didn’t know how to comprehend what had happen to us as a nation. Now, whenever I am fortunate to see or hear her sing, I am reminded that life is fragile and every second counts. She represents a rebirth of my spirit through her music. I will always love her music for that. Thank you Jill.

I love this album.. I was a senior in high school when i first heard it, and i still listen and get excited like it was my first time. Jill Scott is a fantastic artist, and i love her work, and she’s a beautiful person as well… I think it’s better that i tell you now…

This is my favorite album. I bought it twice. the first one got warped from playing it so much. This album sets you in the mood to laugh, chill and share it someone special. The words to the songs reminded us of childhood and being in love, experincing your man cheating on you. I could go on and on. I still play it from time to time. I love it. This is grown people’s music
This album brings back so many memories. I just remember out of them all, I use to clean up my whole house starting from #1 all the way down to 18. I felt a natural high and oh so down to earth when I sung your songs. Nobody couldn’t tell me nothing, shoot I just knew I was J.S. You make butifoe music.
I was never exposed to Jill Scott before the release of this album. WHOA! She expresses the hurt of a natural woman and exudes the strength and power of a Queen.
As women, sometimes we are confused. We are either too passive or so aggressive that we possess masculine qualities. But Miss Jill Scott helps women to overcome this identity crisis!
When listening, I close my eyes and tears slowly fall…I exhale because I hear the pain I once experienced being expressed in a manner that empowers me! I cry for the woman that I used to be and shed tears of joy for the woman I have become!
As a woman, I can express my disdain for past experiences, emotional torture and disappointments through my choice in music and not have a lot of degrading and childish verbal exchanges or lyrics within the songs. Express how I feel in a manner that makes me feel so liberated that I have no problem being dressed in my business suit, with the windows rolled down, bumping JILL SCOTT as I pull of to a traffic light!
