This Album delivers interms of content it is truely beautifull what i love about it is that its so real any sister can relate to it “weve all been there ”
one of my favourites is golden its the type of song that lifts your spirit and gives you a positive look towards the world so you can get up in the morning and face the world with a smile girl my niece is only six years old and she is singing it !!
I TRUELY LOVE THIS CD !!!
girl and cross my mind is perfect for when you want to remember the good times that went by!!
April 10th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
“Golden” is my anthem! It has been for quite some time. When it was released, I was just starting my new Health & Wellness business with Warm Spirit.
I was pregnant with my only daughter (3 boys, 1 girl), my relationship with my husband blossomed, my 2 (at the time) boys were healthy and doing well in school, my Warm Spirit business was booming and the words to the song were perfect to describe how I felt about my life.
Then, to top it off, Warm Spirit collaborated with Hidden Beach and “Golden” was the company’s unofficial song of 2005!
I love your style, words, and music Jill - and now your acting skills…you go, Sis!

After a stressful day at work I would put the CD in and grab a glass of merlot and mellow out. But the song that got me hooked was “Not like Crazy”. The background vocals were awesome. The lyrics reminded me of some unmentionable things.
The album is a JS classic from start to finish.
March 28th, 2008 at 7:55 am
OMG, Jill I must say that I love this CD. Well, to be honest, I love everything you sing. Your a wonderful singer and I would love to meet you in person one day and just stretch my lungs with you. This CD has encouraged me so much and strengthed me in many areas that lacked the discipline needed to be a stronger woman. You role on “Why Did I Get Married” was awesome as well. I enjoyed how you was a faithful wife to the end, but when you got tired of the BS you cracked that head open for him. Look who came begging to get his 80 back. Anyway, Ms. Scott, I wish you the best and I won’t you to continue making blissful and soulful music for all to enjoy. I love you!
March 27th, 2008 at 7:50 pm

real deal thru a person has to be real just like you to know what your are talking about

My daughter seems to think you are as young a she is. My daughter has a keen taste for music. She is four years old and loves, begs and constantly reminds me to play your first cd. When I showed her the the beautifully human CD and told her this was Jill scott, she said; “Mommy I want to play with Jill Scott; I want to see her.” I told her we’ll send her an e-mail letter and let her know. I Feel this is so precious and I am glad to see the website has been updated. I would also like to know if Jill Scott would be interested in sponsoring a mentoring program . I am the founder of “A Positive Difference Youth Oragnization” http://apositivedifference.org/ Please contact me if you can offer any assistance.
Sincerly,

WOW! I’ve had this CD from the moement it came out…along with the rest of her “treasures’…Yes, that’s what I call them. She’s extremely talented as a Poet…first and foremost and it works so well when she turns them into songs we get a chance to enjoy! Truly uplifting, sensual, REAL and pure utter QUALITY..unlike the Nonsensical “genre” of music that happens to beat us in the heads all day on the major radio stations..Keep doing you…I’ll see you at the concert on Friday March 7th…I’m sooo psyched!!! LOVE YA!!!
February 29th, 2008 at 6:12 pm

i juat want to say that my sister in law huck me on to you and now i can get enough of you beautiful voice, i would say that you sound like a modern day billy holiday, and a women that is definetly not afraid to express how she feels and what other women are thing and how women should be thinging, my son is not really into it but he likes some of the beats and girls love you they sing all threw are home like mini jill scott’s they know ever verse to your songs.one thing i can say is that i am glad i can raise my kid’s to listen to great music with diffrent instruments that are play with each track and i always play a guessing game on what type off instruments are playing.your voice is makes me feel like i want to start my day with a great attitude, sometimes cry when i need to relieve stress,it’s great to just sit and relax on the beach and listen to your voice and just be taken out of reality for a minute and i know ever verse like the back of my hand….over all keep doing what you as an artist and keep those honest people around always.oh yea and i just want to say that i am 26 , married 4 yrs and counting, with 4 kid’s and holding it down.do your thing ms. jill scott .p.s. love you in the video with lupe fiasco your voice is timeless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ok bye

OMG! Words can’t describe how I feel when I play this CD. My husband and I fought over it until he finally bought his own. Jill writes songs that anyone can relate to…single, married, divorced, despressed, happy, sad, etc… I absolutely feel that she was born to create this music and to touch lives worldwide. My dream is to see her perform live one day. I would probably pass out from the excitement. This is one of my all time favorite albums! I cry, laugh, get romantic and political all at the same time! My 4 year old loves “Hey! Oh!”–Golden. We play it everday when I pick her up from school. Watch out Jill! Naima is on her way! I love ya and keep makin’ music that makes a difference!

This CD…wow true story. I was packing my car for a road trip. I had everthing in tow including my 1 year old daughter (at the time) I realized that I left the CD in the house. I run back in to get it and something to drink. I come back out to my car Place the cup and the CD on the roof of the car while I secure my daughter her car seat. I grab the cup and get in the car and we are off. Now I hear a something outside the car a few minutes later……it wasnt until I was getting on the on ramp to the highway that I realize the sound I heard was Jilly From Philly flying away in the wind. LOL I miss that CD!
