Never Forget bridges the gap between the young people I strive to understand and my age group. It appears they are no different then I was as a youth. If there is a difference between us it is in the vulgarity employed in the lyrics of the music today. Even that I understand as mounting frustration and a lack of my generation’s attention to the social / economic injustices that continue to exhaust us daily. Although I am sympathetic to their frustration, I cannot excuse the use of words that demean ones character and self- esteem. Perhaps education, attention and love will cure this syndrome. Nevertheless, Keep’in it PI, Dr. West, you have mindfully created a work of art that speaks to the social consciousness of America while fusing the minds and healing the hearts of both young and old.
